As most of you are already aware, St. Bride ceased being an independent parish of the Archdiocese of Chicago, on July 1, 2020, in accordance with the decisions of the Renew My Church process and the approval of Cardinal Cupich.  St. Bride has now become a part of the South Shore grouping of churches that includes Our Lady Gate of Heaven, Our Lady of Peace and St. Philip Neri.  St. Philip Neri now serves as the parish church for the South Shore community of Catholics.

The final Sunday Masses at St. Bride will take place from now at 10 AM on Sundays until the weekend of August 15th – 16th. On Saturday, August 15th – the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary – Masses will be celebrated at 12 Noon and 4 PM in the Church.

The final Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Sunday, August 16th.

Additionally, the Farewell Luncheon, scheduled for September 2020 has been cancelled at this time due to the constraints of Covid 19.  We hope to plan a gathering at some time in the future.

Please keep all the people of the South Shore Catholic Community in your prayer during this time of transition.

Father Roll will continue to reside at St. Bride Rectory until his anticipated retirement in January 2021.  In the meantime, he will be assisting at St. Philip Neri, as needed.

Again, we ask your prayerful support during these days.  God bless you all for you care, concern and loyalty over the years!
