My Dear People and Friends of St. Bride,
The Sunday Offering Collection for February 7th totaled $1481.00. Thank you to those who share so faithfully each week! Any increase from you would be appreciated! Also, because of the cold weather attendance is down which has affected our totals. Please try to make up for the weeks you may have missed.
If you have old envelopes that were not used these past few months would you please consider making up your Offerings in the next few weeks. This will help us balance our Sunday Budget which is crucial to our annual report to the Archdiocese. Any additional amount you can contribute to our Sunday Offering giving will be appreciated!
Our Mardi Gras deposit was $1225.87. We still have to pay some expenses, but the profit for the day should be just under $800.00. Thank you to all who worked so hard to make the party a success. The PAGAN’S for the centerpieces and King Cake from Alliance Bakery; The BAKER’S for their Raffle Table; TIM and SHERALEE for Bartending; and a special thanks to TOMMY SLAY AND TERRY ROSE for cooking and decorating. Now on to our Leap Year Mexican Luncheon the February 28th!
Thanks for listening and God Bless your ongoing generosity!
First Sunday of Lent – 2016
“I have now brought you the first fruits of the products of the soil which you, O Lord, have given to me.” (Deuteronomy 26:10)
This line from the Old Testament offers two challenges. First, do you give to God from your “first fruits”, the best that you have to offer, or do you give from what is leftover? Second, do you remember that everything you have has been given to you by God? Ask God for a grateful and generous heart, every day.
A VALENTINE’S DAY PRAYER
I said a Valentine prayer for you and asked the Lord above
to fill your heart and bless your soul with the precious gift of love.
I asked Him for sincere love the kind that's meant to stay
Just like the generous love you give to those you touch each day.
I prayed for love from family and from every cherished friend
Then I asked the Lord to give you His love that knows no end.
