Husband of Isabelle Rice - Funeral on Saturday, January 8, 2011

John Rice died the morning of January 1, 2011 at the age of 92. 

John L. Rice - U.S. Marine Corps, Veteran of WW II,

Beloved husband of Isabelle (nee Wigmore) for 72 years.

Loving father of Susan (George) Keeley.

Dear grandfather of Brian (Paige) and Will (Vanessa) Keeley.

Proud great grandfather of Maeve, George, Sean and Quinn.

John was a professional umpire with the American League (1955-1974), a  Chicago Sports Hall of Fame Inductee (1999) and Past President of the Old Timers Baseball Association of Chicago. He was also a retired employee of the Cook County Recorders Office and the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District.

Visitation Saturday morning 10am-12 Noon at St. Bride Catholic Church78th St.and Coles Ave. 

Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.

At the family's request Memorials to St. Bride Church 7811 S. Coles Ave. Chicago, IL 60649 are most appreciated.
