Dear Parishioners and Friends of St. Bride,

Every year at St. Bride, we gather together to pay tribute and recognize individuals who embody the Spirit of St. Bride. The recognition takes place at our annual Spring Luncheon, our major fundraiser for the parish.

The Spring Luncheon will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2010, at The Dynasty Ballroom of the Ramada Innin Hammond, Indiana. In addition to the fellowship and fine food, we will feature live music by - The Music Company.

This year brings a special event to the Spring Luncheon. A painting of the High Altar of St. Bride during a traditional High Mass has been commissioned by benefactors to St. Bride and will be unveiled at the Spring Luncheon. Done in the style of Norman Rockwell and the South Shore posters, the painting also captures the church and school buildings in profiles within the church window shape. The painting is by renowned artist Mitch Markovitz whose work is known throughout the country. You can see examples of his work at www.mitchmarkovitz.com. Posters of the painting will be available for purchase and the artist will be present to personally sign them for you. All proceeds benefit St. Bride. More details are on our web page. We would love to have you with us for the event.

If you cannot attend would you please consider supporting us in one or more of the following ways?

Place a greeting or memorial page in our Spring Luncheon Ad Book Program. The form for this is enclosed with this letter. The deadline for copy for the program is May 9^th.

Sponsor one of our Catholic School children who might not be able to attend the Luncheon because of financial reasons. Your sponsorship of $20 or more will enable us to invite these children – our future – as your guests!

Contribute to the 50/50 Spring Raffle. Only one hundred tickets will be printed.

I know we can count on your support for our efforts and hope you will consider joining us for this special event. Please complete the enclosed forms and return them to the Parish by May 9, 2010. Your check may be made payable to St. Bride Church.

Your support this year is always important. Our outreach here in South Shore, especially our Food Pantry, has never been greater. Please contribute what you can so that St. Bride can continue to be a strong, loving presence, as we have been for 117 years.
